The Latest Round of Invitations for Working Holiday Visa Program Sends Invites to 4,655 Applicants

Canada invited 4,655 applicants for the Working Holiday Visa to apply for Open Work permits in the new draw on February 17, 2024, under the International Experience Canada.

The number of open slots in the category of Working Holiday Visa is 38,668. There are 29,713 eligible applicants across 35 eligible countries in the pool. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 5,166 invitations under the 2024 season of International Experience Canada this week.

The International Co-op (Internship) category included 237 ITAs, and the Young Professionals category invited 274 applicants to apply for the closed work permit.

The five topmost contributing countries in the latest Working Holiday Visa invitation round were:

  • South Korea- 1,094 ITAs
  • UK- 749 ITAs
  • France- 570 ITAs
  • Japan- 409 ITAs
  • Australia- 370 ITAs

Candidates from over 32 eligible countries can explore the International Experience Canada option to get a Canadian Open Work Permit. Each qualifying country receives a fixed quota for applicants to receive Open Work Permits under the IEC program. They need not complete the Labor Impact Assessment (LMIA) process to become eligible under the IEC program. The validity of the work permit ranges between 12 and 24 months.
