The Latest Express Entry Draw Invites 4,750 Candidates Continuing Drop in CRS Scores

The Express Entry draw #236 on Nov 23, 2022, invited 4,750 candidates to apply for permanent residence.

The eleventh draw, since the resumption of the Express Entry process on July 6, 2022, by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada, invited 4,750 candidates with a CRS threshold of 491. The #236 Express Entry draw did not target any specific program.

All eligible candidates for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades (FSTP), and Canadian Experience Class received Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence.

Candidates receiving an Invitation to Apply should submit their completed applications for permanent residence within sixty days of receiving the ITA. They must provide proof of all information in the Express Entry profile while filling out the application.

False information or incomplete application will lead to refusal of the application or inadmissibility.

Drop in CRS threshold

The number of Invitations for the three consecutive Express Entry draws remained constant, though there was a drop of two to three points in the CRS scores with each round. The CRS score is consistently dropping since the beginning of 2022, as the minimum CRS score for January 5, 2022 draw was 808 points.

The pandemic travel restrictions and backlog halted the Express Entry draws for general categories in December 2020. The draws for the Canadian Experience Class continued till Sep 2021 before the IRCC put a pause on these.
