Sault Ste. Marie Recommended 213 Candidates under the Rural & Northern Immigration Pilot in 2022

Rural & Northern Immigration Pilot helped Sault Ste. Marie surpass its quota of 125 immigrants and enabled 137 candidates to secure jobs in the community.

Sault Ste. Marie exceeded the allocation as some communities could not consume their quotas under the Rural & Northern Immigration Pilot.

Most candidates receiving recommendations for permanent residency were living in Canada. Thirty candidates applied from overseas locations. A total of 137 candidates secured full-time permanent jobs in the community.

The vacancies existed for senior executives, managers, and supervisors. Most applicants to the RNIP were from India, Brazil, the Philippines, and Ukraine.

Ste. Sault Marie helped a total of 349 skilled immigrants secure jobs and settle since the launch of RNIP in 2019. The program benefits local employers who find skilled labor besides enabling newcomers to get jobs and settle in communities permanently.

Rural & Northern Immigration Pilot

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship operate the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) to boost the economy and demography of Canada’s smaller communities. The community-drive immigration pilot helps smaller communities benefit from economic immigration by allowing foreign-skilled workers and international students to secure jobs and settle by becoming permanent residents.

Candidates meeting standard legibility requirements can find jobs and settle in the following communities:

  • Altona/ Rhineland
  • Brandon
  • Claresholm
  • Moose Jaw
  • North Bay
  • Sault Ste. Marie
  • Sudbury
  • Timmins
  • Vernon
  • West Kootenay

Candidates living in urban areas of Canada and struggling to secure permanent residency status can settle in smaller communities of northern and rural Canada by securing a permanent job.
