Quebec’s Minister of Immigration, Francization, and Integration (MIFI) held the latest Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP) to invite 1,218 candidates with minimum scores of 584 points to apply for permanent residency.
On June 29, the ninth RSWP draw of this year invited candidates to apply for permanent residence with a points score cut-off of 584 and a minimum level 7 Oral Proficiency in the French language.
The candidates required a valid job offer outside the territory of the Montreal metropolitan region. The Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP) draw focuses on certain in-demand occupations.
Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program
Quebec enjoys the autonomy to operate its permanent immigration programs, including the popular Quebec immigration pathway of the Regular Skilled Worker Program. It aims to select eligible applicants willing to settle in Quebec.
The RSWP mandates different selection criteria, including French language skills, work experience, education, and ties to Quebec. The Quebec RSWP program is comparable with the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Aspiring candidates should submit an online Expression of Interest form through the Arrima portal for selection through periodic draws. Quebec assigns maximum importance to French language proficiency and considers only those candidates with level 7 or higher oral proficiency in French.
