IRCC Holds New Express Entry Draw Inviting French-speaking Candidates to Apply for Permanent Residence

The week’s second Express Entry draw on October 25 issued ITAs to 300 candidates with French language proficiency.

IRCC conducted the week’s first Express Entry draw on October 24. It was the largest ever PNP-only Express Entry draw, issuing 1,548 ITAs to candidates eligible for provincial nomination. The CRS score cut-off for the PNP-only draw was 776 points. A higher CRS score cut-off for the draw was because of the addition of 600 points to the CRS score following a provincial nomination.

The CRS score cut-off for the Francophone Express Entry draw was 486. Candidates exploring immigration options through category-based Express Entry draws must aim for CRS scores above 500 points by improving language scores and adding more work experience and qualifications. Getting a provincial nomination is a suitable option to boost CRS scores as it adds 600 points to the existing CRS score.

Canada’s Express Entry application management system deals with the three most popular immigration pathways: Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSWP), and Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP). Canada has conducted no Express Entry draws for the Canadian Experience Class since September 2021. IRCC may hold a new Express Entry draw for CEC soon.
