Need for an Immigrant Medical Exam (IME)
Permanent Residence application mandates an Immigrant Medical Exam by a panel physician. Express Entry profile submission requires uploading an IME document. Individuals living in Canada as students or workers need not submit IME while applying for permanent residence.
Overseas Express Entry applicants can upload a blank document to the Express Entry profile builder instead of an IME document. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will instruct the candidate about the submission of an IME document whenever necessary.
