Express Entry Recognizes English and French Language Abilities as Crucial Factors for Immigration Aspirants

Canada’s Express Entry selection system underlines the significance of better language efficiency in English and French for getting permanent residency.

English and French are the official languages of Canada. Immigration authorities in Canada observed that over 92 percent of successful immigrants had better language proficiency in these languages, although their mother tongue was other than English or French.

Importance of English and French for Express Entry immigration

Express Entry is Canada’s fundamental selection process for immigration hopefuls. The most notable proof of the importance of language proficiency in English or French is the Express Entry’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The Comprehensive Ranking System ranks candidates in the Express Entry pool as per their skills, experience, and education.

The ability to speak, write, read, and listen in Canada’s official languages is a vital selection factor for permanent residence. The Express Entry allows a maximum of 320 points to candidates with higher language proficiency in English or French. It can significantly multiply the prospects of selection as the Express Entry follows a competitive selection process.

The record of earnings between 2016 and 2021 shows higher earning potential among immigrants with better abilities to speak English or French. The earnings for candidates with better language proficiencies continue to be higher in the long term.
