CRS Score Rises as Canada Invites 3,500 Candidates in the First Express Entry Draw of April

The first All-Programs Express Entry Draw of April 2023 issued 3,500 invitations to candidates.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada conducted the tenth Express Entry draw on March 12. The All-Programs draw selected 3,500 candidates with a CRS score threshold of 486 points. CRS cut-off is higher by five points as compared with the last draw. The modest rise in the CRS threshold attributes to the significant drop in the number of ITAs.

The latest Express Entry draw invited candidates from across programs, including Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

The number of invitations in the March 12 Express Entry draw is half in comparison with the ITAs in the previous draws. Fewer ITAs caused the CRS cut-off to rise in the latest Express Entry draw. The recent growth in the number of ITAs is because the draws did not take place for eighteen months.

Canada’s ambitious Immigration Levels Plan aims to welcome 82,880 candidates as permanent residents through Express Entry selection. The three-year plan’s objective is to increase the number of PRs through the Express Entry pathway to 114,000 by 2025.
