CRS Drops in the Recent Draw of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP)

The Canadian province of Alberta declared the results of its recent PNP draw on February 16.

The February 16 Alberta Advantage Immigration Program draw invited 100 candidates through its Express Entry linked stream with the CRS threshold of 357 points. The minimum CRS dropped by 28 points against the last draw on January 23, 2023.

The new draw required candidates with active Express Entry profiles indicating their interest in settling in Alberta. The candidates with work experience in occupations supporting diversification and economic development of Alberta received Notifications of Interest.

Alberta Advantage Immigration Program is a popular Provincial Nominee Program of Alberta, simplifying immigration to Canada through several immigration streams. These are:

  • Alberta Opportunity stream – Foreign workers working in Alberta benefit from the pathway to become permanent residents.
  • Alberta Express Entry stream – Express Entry candidates having ties in Alberta can expect to settle in the province through the Express Entry stream of AAIP.
  • Alberta Accelerated Tech pathway – Express Entry candidates of eligible Tech occupations having a valid job offer by an Alberta employer or working in Alberta can speed up immigration through the stream.
  • Alberta Rural Renewal stream – Candidates with support from Alberta’s designated rural community and a valid job offer can leverage the stream of AAIP.

Express Entry candidates having a lower CRS score can leverage Alberta’s PNP immigration streams to boost their scores with an additional 600 points by getting Notifications of Interest.
