BREAKING: IRCC Holds the Week’s Third Consecutive Express Entry Draw Inviting 1,500 Candidates

The week’s third Express Entry draw by the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 1,500 candidates who qualified for category-based selection in healthcare occupations.

IRCC held the second healthcare-specific category-based Express Entry draw on July 6, 2023. The category-based Express Entry draw invited candidates across 35 healthcare occupations. Candidates required a CRS score of at least 463 points to qualify for an Invitation to Apply for permanent residency. The Express Entry draw marked the lowest CRS cut-off for the year 2023.

Last week, there was an announcement by IRCC about its plan to select 1,500 candidates in the healthcare-oriented category-based draw.

The week witnessed the first-ever STEM-specific category-based Express Entry draw to select 500 candidates in occupations covering Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The week’s third round of Express Entry draw was for all programs, including Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class. The all-program Express Entry draw invited  700 candidates on July 4, 2023. The beginning of category-based Express Entry draws follows the change in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) in June 2022. The category-based Express Entry draws aim at selecting eligible candidates in occupations that align with Canada’s economic priorities.
