IRCC extended the Online Application Status Tracker facility across four new categories to benefit Express Entry candidates and their representatives
On February 8, 2023, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) extended the Online Application Status Tracker tool for programs under the Express Entry application management system.
These include:
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
- Federal Skills Trade Program (FSTP)
- Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
Candidates applying for these Express Entry-linked programs and their representatives can now track the status of their applications online. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) proposes an extension of the Online Application Status Tracker facility to more immigration applicant groups.
Online Status Tracker
IRCC introduced the facility of Online Application Status Tracker in May 2021. It was initially available for citizenship applicants. The status tracking facility became available for applicants of spousal, common law, and dependent child sponsorship applicants in February 2022.
The Online Application Status Tracker facilitates applicants of various immigration programs to track and monitor their applications online. The application tracker tool boosts transparency with direct access to the latest updates.
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has a massive backlog of immigration applications. There are over two million applications in the backlog comprising applications for citizenship, permanent residence, and temporary residence. Canada is aiming to welcome 465,000 new immigrants in 2023.
The initiative by IRCC is part of Canada’s efforts to transform Canada’s immigration system into an advanced platform by adding new functionalities.
